Floods along the Missouri River or Indian Creek illustrate new risks to our region from flooding? Many different flood risk reduction measures have been carried out around the region, from levees and floodwalls to early warning systems, floodplain management and stormwater stringent engineering requirements, planning techniques like stream setback ordinances, and ecological restoration practices like native landscaping, urban forestry, stream buffers, and prairie restoration.

While a variety of water resource management techniques are already in place in many parts of our region, how can we do more? What opportunities do you see go bigger? What role does collaboration among area communities play? What partnerships should be considered?
